Ti’Bilon Healthcare Foundation Takes Free Medical Outreach to Abuja Communities
The Ti’Bilon Healthcare Foundation, in collaboration with the Anchor Men’s Fellowship of Family Worship Centre (FWC), Wuye, Abuja, has organised a free medical outreach serving communities across the Federal Capital Territory.
The initiative targeted 3,000 beneficiaries and was conducted across six locations: Gwagwalada, Wuye, Nyanya, Kubwa, Karu and Lugbe.
The outreach forms part of the foundation’s efforts to improve access to basic healthcare services for residents in communities where access to healthcare can be challenging.
Free Medical Services
According to reports from the outreach, beneficiaries had access to a range of basic healthcare services.
These included:
- Medical consultations
- Vital-sign checks
- Blood-pressure checks
- Blood-sugar checks
- Eye examinations
- Eye care
- Dental services
- Cardiovascular tests
- Essential medications
- Referrals for cases requiring specialised attention
The programme also included provisions for eyeglasses for some beneficiaries with identified eye needs.
Reaching Communities Across Abuja
The six-location approach was designed to extend the reach of the programme across different parts of the FCT.
The participating locations included Gwagwalada, Wuye, Nyanya, Kubwa, Karu and Lugbe.
The organisers said the programme was open to both church members and non-members, reflecting the community-wide nature of the initiative.
Partnership for Community Impact
The outreach was organised in collaboration with the Anchor Men’s Fellowship of Family Worship Centre, Wuye.
Speaking about the partnership, representatives explained that collaboration with organisations already connected to communities can help healthcare interventions reach more people.
Continuing Healthcare Outreach
The foundation’s programme director also said the organisation had previously attended to more than 5,000 patients through its medical outreach programme in the previous year and had conducted interventions in Abuja and Kwali Area Council, among other locations.
The foundation has also shared information about its healthcare activities through its social channels.
A Community-Focused Initiative
The outreach reflects the role that foundations, churches, businesses and other community organisations can play in complementing existing healthcare efforts.
The organisers also called for support from donors, development partners and other stakeholders to expand healthcare interventions to communities where access remains limited.
Independent Coverage
The initiative has received coverage from Nigerian media, including The Guardian and Independent Newspapers.
